COVİD-19 Pandemisi Nedeniyle Uygulanan Tam Kapanma Döneminde Ortodonti Hastalarının Acil Durum Algılarının Değerlendirilmesi

GİRİŞ ve AMAÇ: Çalışmanın amacı; ülkemizde Covid-19 pandemisi nedeniyle uygulanan tam kapanma döneminde ortodonti hastalarının kliniğimize başvuru yollarını ve acil durum algılarını değerlendirmektir.
YÖNTEM ve GEREÇLER: Çalışmaya Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi Ortodonti Anabilim Dalı’nda tedavisi devam eden ve biten hastalar dahil edilmiştir. 13.03.2020 - 01.06.2020 tam kapanma tarihleri arasında kliniğimize başvuruda bulunan hastaların başvuru yolları ile hangi acil taleple başvuruda bulunduğu kaydedilmiştir.
BULGULAR: Başvuruların en çok telefon araması ile yapıldığı görülmüştür. Tüm başvurular arasında acil durum talebinin büyük kısmını sabit ortodontik tedavi gören hastalar oluşturmuştur. Hareketli aparey kullanan hastalarda en fazla başvuru nedeninin kullanım süresi, sabit ortodontik tedavi görenlerde ise braket kopması olduğu belirlenmiştir.
TARTIŞMA ve SONUÇ: Acil durum başvuru talepleri incelendiğinde sabit ortodontik tedavi gören hasta sayısının belirgin şekilde fazla olduğu görülmektedir. Bu nedenle sabit tedavi gören hastaların tedavi pratiği ve mekaniğinde daha özenli olunması gerekmektedir.

Evaluation of Emergency Perceptions of Orthodontic Patients in the Period of Complete Closure Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic

INTRODUCTION: The aim of this study is to evaluate the ways of applying to our clinic and emergency perceptions of orthodontic patients during the complete closure period applied due to the Covid-19 pandemic in our country.
METHODS: The study included the patients still having orthodontic treatment and the patients whose treatment were completed in Karadeniz Technical University Faculty of Dentistry Department of Orthodontics. The application ways and urgent requests of the patients were recorded between 13.03.2020 - 01.06.2020 full closure dates.
RESULTS: It was observed that the applications were mostly made by phone calls. Among all the applications, the majority of the emergency request consisted of patients receiving fixed orthodontic treatment. It has been determined that the most common reason for removable appliances is duration of use and bracket debonding for fixed orthodontic treatment.
DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: It is understood that the number of patients receiving fixed orthodontic treatment is clearly higher when the emergency application requests are examined. So, it is necessary to be more careful in the treatment practice and mechanics of patients receiving fixed orthodontic treatment.
